Stree 2
After the massive success and box office triumph of Stree (2018), fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel. Finally, Stree 2 is ready to 15th August release, on Independence Day. This comedy horror film, led by Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Pankaj Tripathi, is directed by Amar Kaushik once again.
Picking up from where the first film ended, Stree 2 revolves around the mysterious abduction of women by a headless entity. Vicky and his friends must once again save their town. The film will be released in Hindi across India. According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 has already generated impressive advance booking figures of approximately 11.4 crores for day one. While a theatrical release and Netflix streaming are confirmed, but OTT release date for Stree 2 is yet to be announced.
Khel Khel Mein
Popular Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie titled ‘Khel Khel Mein‘ is scheduled for 15th August release in theaters. This is a comedy movie directed and scripted by Mudassar Aziz, and it can be dubbed only in the Hindi language. ‘Khel Khel Mein’ follows a group of friends who gather for dinner and reveal their secrets to each other.
The lead stars of this movie are Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, and Taapsee Pannu. ‘Khel Khel Mein’ has a budget of around 100 crores and a duration of 2 hours and 14 minutes. There are speculations about the movie releasing on the OTT platform Netflix. According to Sacnilk, the movie earned a Gross of about 56.72 Lac on the first day of advance booking.
Vedaa
Vedaa is Nikkhil Advani’s upcoming action drama film scheduled for a theatrical release on Independence Day 2024. Starring John Abraham, Sharvari, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia, this blockbuster tells the story of a young woman who confronts and defies a repressive system. Dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, the film has generated 57.89 lakh rupees in advance ticket sales on its first day. There is no official news about an OTT release yet.
Thangalaan
Thangalaan is a Tamil-language action adventure film starring Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. Directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film has an estimated budget of ₹100-150 crore. Thangalaan releases in cinemas on 15th August, India’s Independence Day, and will be available in 3D formats.
The 15th August release film tells the story of Thangalaan, a fierce tribal leader, who, along with his assistant Lord Clement, incurs the wrath of Aarathi, a powerful sorceress, while mining for gold during British rule. Thangalaan sets out to stop Aarathi with all his might. The film’s digital streaming rights have been sold to Netflix for ₹35 crore, but the release date has not been confirmed.
Double Ismart
Double iSmart is a sequel to iSmart Shankar (2019), primarily released in Telugu and dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It is scheduled for 15th August release, on Independence Day. Directed and written by Puri Jagannadh, the film stars Ram Pothineni, Sanjay Dutt, and Kavya Thapar in lead roles. The plot revolves around a notorious character, Big Bull, who seeks immortality by transferring his memories to iSmart Shankar, leading to a confrontation between the two. The film’s digital streaming rights have been secured by Amazon Prime Video for ₹33 crore.

Mr. Bachchan (15th August release)
One of the 15th August release movie, Mr. Bachchan, Telugu-language films, is an action crime drama directed and written by Harish Shankar. Starring Ravi Teja, Bhagyashri Borse, and Jagapathi Babu, the film is based on the real-life income tax raid on Indian industrialist Sardar Inder Singh.
